- Danielle rolled over in bed and fumbled for the phone she knew was somewhere on the bedside table. It took several moments of blinking before her eyes stopped stinging enough to actually look at the bright screen for her to read the time. It was just past eleven in the morning and Danielle hadn't made it out of bed yet, which was uncharacteristic to say the least. She moaned softly as her pounding headache and topsy-turvy stomach edged into her consciousness.
- Danielle had only ever been 'hung-over' one time, after a dinner date with some friends a number of years ago. They had split a couple of bottles of wine over the course of the evening without Danielle even really noticing it, and the next morning she had to contend with a mild headache and some general lethargy. This though, was on a whole different level.
- Suddenly she realized that she needed to go to the bathroom and spent the next few minutes standing over the toilet bowl unsure if she was going to throw up. The worst of the nausea passed, and she was thankful that she didn't puke, which was one of her least favorite things in the world. She decided to brush her teeth anyways after sucking down some water from the tap to cool her very dry throat.
